Connect with Claude Desktop
Requirements
- Claude Desktop installed on your computer
- A Knowatoa account
Setup
- Open your Claude Desktop configuration file:
- Mac:
~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json - Windows:
%APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json
- Mac:
- Add the Knowatoa MCP server to the
mcpServerssection:

Restart Claude Desktop.

On your first request, Claude will open your browser so you can sign in to Knowatoa. After signing in, you’re connected.
Usage
Once connected, just ask Claude about your AI search data in plain language:
- “How is my site doing in AI search?”
- “Which AI services mention my brand the most?”
- “Show me my competitor comparison”
- “Add a new question to track: What is the best project management tool?”
Troubleshooting
Claude doesn’t show Knowatoa as a connected tool Make sure you saved the config file and fully restarted Claude Desktop (not just closed the window).
Browser login doesn’t complete Check that you’re signing in with the same email address associated with your Knowatoa account.
Token expired Tokens last 2 hours. If Claude reports an authentication error, it will automatically prompt you to sign in again.
