Connect with Claude Desktop
Claude Desktop (and Claude.ai on the web) connect to Knowatoa using a custom connector. No config file editing — everything happens in Settings.
Requirements
- Claude Desktop installed, or Claude.ai in your browser
- A Knowatoa account
Setup

Open Settings → Connectors → + → Add custom connector.

Paste this URL:
https://knowatoa.com/mcp
- Click Add. Claude opens your browser so you can sign in to Knowatoa. After signing in, you’re connected.
Usage
Start a new chat and ask about your AI search data:
- “How is my site doing in AI search?”
- “Which AI services mention my brand the most?”
- “Show me my competitor comparison”
- “Add a new question to track: What is the best project management tool?”
Removing the connection
Go to Settings → Connectors, find Knowatoa, and click Remove.
Troubleshooting
Connector doesn’t appear
Make sure you’re on a recent build of Claude Desktop. Older versions used a claude_desktop_config.json file — the in-app Connectors UI replaced that.
Browser login doesn’t complete Check that you’re signing in with the same email address associated with your Knowatoa account.
Authentication error Tokens refresh automatically in the background. If you ever do get an auth error, sign in again — that usually means the refresh token was revoked or your client cleared it.
